The SOC conducts monthly meeting in Riyadh. The meetings take place in one
of city Hotels.
The attendees are usually in the range of 100-200 persons from both private
and public sectors.
It’s not uncommon to encounter one or more VIP figures at those meeting such
as, Dr. Abdulrahman Al Swailem, President of Red Crescent Society, Dr.
Oussama Khatib, Regional Adviser of Non-Communicable Diseases of World
Health Organization, Cairo, Egypt, Prof. Rashed Al Rashed Al Humaid.
The meeting goals is to gather all those interested in osteoporosis, update
them on current issues related to osteoporosis and discuss any related
topics. Within this context, educational material related to osteoporosis is
distributed to attendees such as, brochures, pamphlets, newsletter, etc.
Attendees are usually invited to join the club by application forms
distributed to them. All these activities are usually sponsored by some
pharmaceutical companies.
