World Osteoporosis Day : H.E. MOH Dr.Hamad
Al Manea announced the first official Saudi Campaign against
osteoporosis which will last for 6 months sharing with the international
community this important public health issue.

As part of this event the first and largest
milk campaign will be launched on 1.1.1428 ( 19.1.2007). Six million milk
samples will be distributed throughout the kingdom to schools and other

Nutrition announced as theme of World
Osteoporosis Day 2006
World
Osteoporosis Day 2006 will focus on the role of nutrition in bone health. Under
the theme ‘Bone Appetit’, IOF and its member societies will carry out varied
campaigns to raise awareness of the importance of healthy, calcium-rich

Prevention
Although genetic factors will determine whether an
individual is at heightened risk of osteoporosis, lifestyle factors can
